For the past 10 years Girl Scout troops from the Two Bridges Service Unit have been Holiday Caroling for Cans in effort to collect donated goods for North Fulton Community Charities while spreading Holiday cheer. This year we have chosen the DoubleGate neighborhood and have 10 troops (over 80 girl scouts!) wanting to sing holiday songs to your family in exchange for a couple non-perishable items. North Fulton Community Charities supports over 1,200 North Fulton families during the holiday season and thousands more families throughout the year. The NFCC’s list of most needed items is below.
In previous years we have collected over 3,000 donated items and helped to feed and provide for many families. Please support our girls for our annual Caroling for Cans this year on December 16th from 5:00 – 6:30pm.
If you would like to participate, please sign up with your name and street address below on the sign-up genius link. On December 9th we will drop off a list a needed items you can chose from and a brown paper bag and pick it up during caroling on December 16th.
We are really looking forward to singing to you, but if you prefer to donate only and will not be home, or prefer no caroling you are welcome to leave a donation outside your door in the bag provided, or drop it off at 5285 Laithbank Lane in the box on the front porch (please note – ‘no carolers’ on your sign-up)

- All toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, soap etc.) families cannot use food stamps for these, so the need is high

Many long time DoubleGate residents will remember back to a time when HOA members installed the holiday decorations. Well, it's deja-vu all over again! We are looking for volunteers to help install the holiday decoration on Saturday, November 17th or Sunday the 18th. If your can help, please email Neil Solarsh at vp2_hoa@doublegate.net so he can put you on his list of volunteers.

The DoubleGate HOA, at the request of our membership, strives to maintain our neighborhood entrances in a clean and attractive manner to help showcase our neighborhood in the Johns Creek community.
Our entrances are not intended to be used for marketing and solicitation. On a recent weekend we had 13 signs in the grounds at the State Bridge entrance and 6 signs in the grounds at Buice. These signs were spread randomly in the grass and the planted beds, some had balloons attached and one of which was advertising for an event to occur in another 2 months. This particular weekend was a bit unusual, but certainly there has been a trend occurring where our entrances have had a number of signs, including some of which are simply placed and left well after an event occurs and it falls on a volunteer to go purge the signage.
The signs are unattractive and create issues each week for our landscape provider to work around, including either mowing around the signs, or removing and replacing the signs. Given the abundance of ways to get information on real estate, children’s camps, or events in the surrounding community, we believe that it is reasonable to limit the need to place signs on our neighborhood entrances. None of our board members would like 10 signs placed in our front yards by unknown parties, so it seems reasonable to try to limit this behavior at the first impression of our neighborhood.
Rules regarding Signage and Placement Thereof on property maintained by the DoubleGate HOA:
Sign Rules
The following rules are applicable to all signs placed on any property maintained by the DoubleGate HOA, which as of this date include the Twingate/Buice Road neighborhood entrance and the Twingate/State Bridge Road neighborhood entrance.
- For Sale signs and Garage Sale signs as well as other signage (e.g. camps, events, etc.) used for advertising will not be permitted to be displayed at either entrance of the DoubleGate subdivision (Buice Road & State Bridge Road).
- Directional signs for weekend marketing activity such as an “Open House” or a mid-week Agent Luncheon (Broker’s Open) may be used provided:
- The homeowner is an HOA member in good standing
- The signs only state “Open House” with an arrow
- Signs can be placed up to 2 days prior to the day of the event only. Signs must be removed by 8 pm the same day as the event
- Balloons or any type of Flare shall NOT be attached to signs
- One sign will be permitted and should be placed in the grass near the sidewalk
- The HOA will provide information and clarification to homeowners and listing brokers/agents as
required. - Estate Sale signs are permitted but can only be put up for 3 days (Friday-Sunday) – HOA members only.
- The HOA shall enforce these rules and regulations and remove any non-conforming signs as required.
Signs that are removed will be held by the HOA for 7 days and then destroyed. - Exceptions may be granted with prior approval from the HOA.
- Anyone posting signs that do not conform to this policy will be notified upon removal. If the same
individual/agent/organization continues to place signs in violation of the policy, the signs will be
immediately removed and destroyed. We hope such action would not be necessary, but if someone should have such disregard for our neighborhood property, then we will enforce this protocol. - Any homeowner posting a sign for other purposes ie: garage sale will have the sign removed and notified.

We would also encourage anyone placing signs inside our neighborhood to be considerate of our neighbors and ensure that if you are placing a temporary sign in a yard other than your own, you appropriately ask your neighbor before placing a sign in their yard. That’s the neighborly thing to do.

Road sealant is scheduled to be applied to the west side (Swim & Tennis Club side) of Twingate Drive on Thursday, October 4th and the east side of Twingate on Friday, October 5th. Work will be performed between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM those days.
ALL RESIDENTS:
– Please do not park on Twingate Drive at all on October 4th or 5th
– Sealant will not be applied at side road crossings at this time
– Sealant will not be applied at Swim & Tennis Club driveways at this time
TWINGATE RESIDENTS:
– You will not be able to enter or exit your driveway between 8am and 6pm the day your side is being sealed
– Move your car to a side road before 8:00 AM the day your side is being sealed
– Turn sprinklers off Wednesday morning (24 hours before)
– Sprinklers can be turned on again Saturday afternoon (24 hours after)
– Have your waste receptacles ready for pickup by 7:00 AM, they will be collected before work begins
– Adverse weather conditions may cause the schedule to change
If you need a ride to/from your relocated car, a shuttle service will be provided between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM for homes on Twingate. Please call (404) 615-0345 during those hours.

Her name is Dixie, and she got out last Friday, the 27th. She's about 12 years old, but tiny, and she's been an indoor cat for the 11 years we've had her. She's loud, but skittish and doesn't like to be picked up.

The July meeting of the DoubleGate Homeowners Association has been changed from Wednesday, July 11th to THURSDAY, July 19th. We will still meet at Frontera Restaurant (10990 State Bridge Rd) at 7:00pm.
The DoubleGate Homeowners Association is pleased to announce that it has entered into a new agreement with Waste Management, making them the preferred hauler for residential waste in DoubleGate. If you are an existing Waste Management customer, you should see the new lower rate ($12.50 per month plus a 10% fuel surcharge) on your next billing cycle – please do not call them. If you are a new DoubleGate resident and wish to use Waste Management, please call them at (404) 794-6707. Let them know that you are a DoubleGate resident to take advantage of the group rate. Waste Management collects garbage on Thursdays. Here are the details:
WM will service one 96-gallon trash cart and one of the below for extra trash and/or yard waste:
- Eight (8) additional household trash bags
- Two (2) 35-gallon trash carts (household trash must be bagged)
- One (1) 96-gallon trash cart (household trash must be bagged).
WM offers the option of a larger, 65-gallon recycle cart (instead of the 18-gallon bin) at NO CHARGE. If you are an existing WM customer and would like to take advantage of the FREE upgrade, please call customer service at (404) 794-6707.
WM will provide once-monthly curbside bulk items removal at NO CHARGE! Limit one item per home. Please call customer service at (404) 794-6707 to schedule your service.
WM will collect Christmas trees for the first two weeks following Christmas FREE of charge to our WM customers. Trees must be cut in half for disposal purposes.
