Vote on New DoubleGate HOA Bylaws

The DoubleGate Homeowners Association board of directors has been working on an update to our 2007 DoubleGate HOA bylaws. The bylaws are the framework for the operation of the board, such as the board positions, the responsibilities of those positions, the term length of the position, board meeting requirements and other guidelines related to responsibility of the board and board members to conduct business in a proper manner for continuity and consistency in conduct.

Our 2007 bylaws have been fine, but certain provisions need updating to stay current. Various aspects of our communication with our membership have changed over the past 14 years and our bylaws aren't current with how many of us now handle business.

While many board members provided input and suggested changes, we would like to thank two board members in particular, Colleen Curran and Jeff Hunter, for their hard work on making these changes.

A vote of HOA members is now needed in order for these changes to become part of the DoubleGate HOA governing documents. HOA members will receive an email with a link to a file that shows a summary of the changes that were made, a link to the proposed December 2021 Bylaws and a link to allow members to vote to accept or reject these changes.

ARTICLE VIII of the existing bylaws states that Bylaws may be amended by an affirmative vote (either in person, by proxy or other mechanism provided by the Board) of a majority of the membership votes cast. An invitation to vote on the proposed bylaws changes will be sent via email to HOA members who have provided us with an email address. This email will contain a link to a file that shows a summary of the proposed changes, a link to the proposed December 2021 Bylaws and a link to allow members to vote to accept or reject these changes. If you are an HOA member for whom we do not have an email address or did not receive the email and would like to cast a vote, you may request a paper ballot by filling out the form below.

Only one vote per household will be recorded so please consult with other members of your household before voting.

Voting on the proposed bylaws changes will be open from Monday, December 6, 2021 and will close on Wednesday, December 15th.

Voting on proposed Bylaws changes is now closed.
