Monday, 6/24 Update:
Last week, HOA board members exchanged a number of emails and even held a conference call with representatives of the City of Johns Creek to make sure that there was no confusion regarding the Twingate sealing schedule. Despite these efforts, the sealing contractor delivered Twingate closing fliers to the wrong side of Twingate today. The city/contractor has decided to switch the days as follows (weather permitting):
- The west (southbound) side of Twingate will be now sealed on Wednesday, June 26th. These are the EVEN numbered Twingate addresses.
- The east (northbound) side of Twingate will be now sealed on Friday, June 28th. These are the ODD numbered Twingate addresses.
If you received a flier that read “Twingate Drive North Section”, ignore what is written and refer to the schedule above.
Thursday, 6/20 Update:
The BLUE and PURPLE streets remain as scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, June 21st.
Without any explanation, the contractor did not complete work on the RED streets. Even though Mt. Oglethorpe and Laithbank west appear to be complete, the contractor did not apply the required second coat of sealant. All of the RED streets below are anticipated to be sealed on Monday, June 24th. These include:
- Laithbank – west of Twingate (Laithbank addresses 5315 and below)
- Mt. Oglethorpe
- Mt. Katahdin
- Dapplegate
- Cantlegate
***** IMPORTANT ADDITION TO THE SEALING SCHEDULE *****
The sealing contractor will now also be resealing the edges of TWINGATE. The city inspected the sealant on Twingate and determined that previously applied sealant has not adequately covered the incorrectly positioned white walker lines so they will be resealed. Two way traffic will be maintained but please use extra caution when driving on Twingate these days. Intersections will not be sealed so residents who do not live on Twingate will still be able to get into/out of DoubleGate. Work is expected to begin later in the morning and be completed before the end of the day. However, to avoid black stripes in your driveway, please respect any marked closures. Weather permitting,
The east (northbound) side of Twingate will be sealed on Wednesday, June 26th. These are the ODD numbered Twingate addresses. The west (southbound) side of Twingate will be sealed on Friday, June 28th. These are the EVEN numbered Twingate addresses.
As a reminder, the contractor will distribute flyers in mailboxes two days before the scheduled sealing date.
Wednesday, 6/19 Update:
Weather permitting. the BLUE and PURPLE streets below are anticipated to be sealed on FRIDAY, June 21.
- Newington
- Fernly – east of Twingate (Fernly addresses 310 and above and 10295 Twingate)
- Saint Lenords
- Laithbank – east of Twingate (Laithbank addresses 5330 and above)
- Foalgarth
- Thimblegate
- Bannergate from Twingate to Pillargate
Tuesday, 6/18 Update:
You may have noticed sealing contractor vehicles inspecting the streets this morning. They determined that the streets were still too wet from last night's rain and more rain is expected late this morning. So, at 8:10am this morning, they cancelled today's sealing of the BLUE and PURPLE streets. They did not provide us with a rescheduled date for these streets.
Weather permitting, the RED streets below will be sealed tomorrow, Wednesday June 19th.
- Laithbank – west of Twingate (Laithbank addresses 5315 and below)
- Mt. Oglethorpe
- Mt. Katahdin
- Dapplegate
- Cantlegate
We understand the inconvenience that all of this rescheduling has caused and sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued cooperation. All we can do is pass on the information we receive as quickly as possible.
6/17/19 Update:
Without any notice to the DoubleGate HOA, the sealing contractor cancelled today's (Monday, June 17th) sealing in DoubleGate. We understand that many residents parked on other streets and walked to their cars this morning for what turns out to be no reason. The HOA has worked very hard to stay on top of this project to minimize the inconvenience to our residents. Members of the HOA board of directors have sent/received dozens of emails and phone calls with city officials, the contractor and residents to coordinate the sealing schedule. Unfortunately, the HOA cannot communicate schedule changes to our residents if the contractor does not make us aware of them.
The sealing that was supposed to be done on Monday, June 17th is now anticipated to be done on Wednesday, June 19th. These are the RED streets: Laithbank – west of Twingate (Laithbank addresses 5315 and below), Mt. Oglethorpe, Mt. Katahdin, Dapplegate and Cantlegate
Weather permitting, the BLUE and PURPLE streets (see below) will be paved tomorrow, Tuesday June 18th.
6/10/19 Update:
When this was scheduled the temperature was humid and in the 90s and our primary concern was rain. However, today we are now having to reschedule due to unseasonably cool temperatures. Temperatures need to be at least near 80 degrees and preferably higher as the warmer temperature helps quicken the drying time. At the moment, the forecast for this Wednesday is a high of 70 degrees. A pleasant break from our hot temperatures, but unfortunately not ideal for the street project and as such, the following streets that were scheduled for this Wednesday will now be rescheduled for next Tuesday (June 18):
Projected Day 2 originally schedule for Wednesday June 12, now anticipated to be Tuesday, June 18th. The schedule below has been updated to reflect this change
Unfortunately at the moment there is a 50% chance of rain every day next week so this may end up being rescheduled again. We will hope for favorable weather and continue to ask for your patience in this process. This is a city project and we are trying our best to keep you informed and prepared.
If a day of sealing needs to be cancelled due to cool or wet conditions, those streets will be sealed after the originally scheduled dates (e.g. the Wednesday, June 12th streets are now anticipated to be sealed on Tuesday, June 18th). The sealing contractor does not do any work on Saturdays or Sundays.
Please reschedule your lawn and other service providers!
Beginning on Tuesday, June 11th, 2019, side streets in DoubleGate will be CLOSED to allow contractors to apply sealant to the pavement according to the schedule below. On the day your street is closed, you will not be able to drive into or out of your drive way between the hours of 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM. Please refer to the map below. On the day your street will be sealed:
- Do not park on your street or any other street being sealed
- Move your car to a side street (that is not being sealed that day) before 7:30 AM the day your street is being sealed
- Turn sprinklers off 24 hours before your street is sealed
- Sprinklers can be turned back on 24 hours after your street is sealed
- Have your waste receptacles ready for pickup by 7:00 AM, they will be collected before work begins
- Contractors will not be able to service your home that day – please reschedule
- Mail and package delivery may be delayed
If you need a ride to/from your relocated car, a shuttle service will be provided between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM. Please call (404) 615-0345 during those hours.
