Our 8th grade scientists researched four methods to purify the DoubleGate creek water:
- Iodine purification
- Sand filter purification
- Boiling purification
- Liquid oxygen purification
Their hypothesis was that the iodine purification would work the best, but their research and experimentation proved otherwise. The method with the least bacteria growth was sand filter purification. In theory, the water purified with the sand filter should be safe to drink.
